
So today is a little late, no excuses but we'll just say it has to do with loving to sleep. Well one thing I start my morning with is a cup of Green Tea* Green tea does have a strong flavor but I acquired taste for it because of its many benefits* Through several research studies Tea such as GREEN Tea has been proven to have many, many health benefits. It is rich in antioxidants which is a GOOD Fighting Agent for our IMMUNITY ~ this is the most common benefit that we hear of... its hard not to praise these positive aspects. Growing up in a Mexican American home, the use of "Manzanilla" or chamomile tea was always used for colic, achy stomachs, and many different remedies. So that is why I chose to talk about some of the GOOD in Tea.
Tea contains poly phenols (antioxidant properties) and theanine (an amino acid found in many teas) which have been shown to:
* help against destroying free radicals in our bodies- which contribute to many diseases such as heart disease and cancer
* Prevent blood clotting- even though clotting can be a normal process that occurs in our bodies, when our bodies are under stress such as an injury, illness or surgery this can be deadly
* Lowers CHOLESTEROL- lowers the risk of heart disease
* HELPS ouR IMMUNITY* Definitely a PLUS* to help you stay feeling good & fight off those winter colds
* Delay aging
* Contains some caffeine which can act as a stimulant* which some research suggests it accelerates calorie burning
So as you can see through some research* Tea is a good way to start of your morning or can be a substitute for a high/sugar beverage* There are many teas that have been proven to help aid in different illnesses. The list goes on. So once in a while try to indulge in the good :)
