Four Somalis and a Tanzanian have been charged in connection with the attack by Al Shabab terrorist group on Garissa University, Kenya in April which killed over 148 people.
Police allege that the 5 suspects colluded to carry out the attack but their roles have not been said.
Four Al Shaba gunmen had stormed Garissa University on April 2 and killed many for several hours before they were stopped by a special police unit which killed the four men.
The five men charged have on Thursday all pleaded not guilty to the 152 counts of committing acts of terrorism in Nairobi court and claim that they have been tortured for 10 consecutive days by anti terrorism police in order to force confession out of them.
Magistrate Daniel Ochenja has directed they remain in prison until June 11 when the court will determine whether to grant them bail.
