Textured polish seems to be all over the place right now, and I really like it - it is simple and looks just a little more fun than a plain color!
Here is a look at the products I used:
-Formula X nail cleanser & base coat
-OPI top coat
-Julep in "Kimberly"
And, here is a look at my Monthly Pedicure:
My inspiration this week was tribal toes!! Here are the products I used this week:
- Formula X Nail Cleanser & Base Coat
- OPI Top Coat
- Black Nail Art Polish
- Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear #470 Bubblegum Pink
- Julep in "Lissa"
- Nail art brush
Here are the steps I followed:
1. Nail cleanser and Base coat
2. Paint 2 coats of pink polish:
3. Use a nail art brush to create a triangle of pink at the bottom of the big toe and paint the top teal (if you can't freehand this, you can also use tape or nail stickers:
4. Use a black nail art polish (or a black polish with a nail art pen) and use it to line between the pink and teal:
5. Use the black and create a second line over a little distance above the first the line:
6. Nail art time: Use the small polish brush to create a square on the top of the peak of the second line. Once you have created the first square, use the spot where the square meets the line to start the lower squares. (this is harder to explain then it is to do - once you create the top square you will see where to create the second square!). Do this twice on both sides of the first square:
7. Top coat & clean up.
Woo Hoo - I think they turned out pretty good! In terms of freehand nail art this does take a little practice - but it is really only straight lines and is not as hard as it looks!
I think it's best to focus on one set of nail art either nails or toes, so this week I picked my toes! It is one of my favorite pedicures yet!
