Posted: 19 Jun 2020 06:01 AM PDT The coronavirus pandemic is not over, but in a testament to the UK's progress in containing the virus, Kate Middleton went out for her first in-person event today. The Duchess of Cambridge visited the Fakenham Garden Centre in Norfolk to talk with its owners and staff about how the center has been affected by COVID-19. The center is close to the Duchess's country home, Anmer Hall, where she, Prince William, and their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are quarantining. Kate dressed casually for her visit, pairing skinny jeans with a Jaeger mint button-up, Fjällräven brown vest, and dark green sneakers. Kate did not wear a mask; she did, however, appear to keep about six feet apart from the people she spoke to: centre owners Martin and Jennie Turner and members of their staff. The CDC and WHO recommend that people wear a mask in public where there is widespread community transmission of COVID-19 to help prevent its spread. This applies especially in cases where six feet of separation between people cannot be maintained, although the WHO defers to local authorities to instate area policies. The Duchess's in-person visit comes one day after footage of her leading a virtual assembly with school children aired. Kate spoke about the feelings of frustration that come with being in quarantine, telling the kids:

The Reviews Don't Lie: These Sculpting Jeans Will Make Your Butt Look Great - Yahoo Lifestyle Posted: 16 Jun 2020 09:00 PM PDT There's nothing like putting on a pair of amazing jeans that instantly transforms your look and boosts your confidence. But we know all too well that with so many styles, fits, and fabrics out there, finding the perfect pair of jeans that flatters your figure, contours your assets, and fits like a glove is not always an easy feat. Taking a few features into account can help when shopping for your body type and fit preference. Two style details to consider are the position of the back pockets and the design of the yoke. (The yoke is the V-shaped section at the back of the jeans that gives denim a curved seat. Typically, the deeper the V, the more shapely your bum will look.) Luckily, when it comes to finding the butt-lifting jeans of your dreams, we've done some of the hard work for you. We looked at the top reviews and positive feedback of sculpting jeans from a plethora of retailers to bring you the 20 best out there. Scroll below to find your perfect pair and see what reviewers say about them. Levi's Wedgie Icon ($98) Rating: 4.9/5 stars Customer Review: "I am 5'1, around 106 lbs with a small waist and wider hips, bum, thighs, and these fit great in a size 26. It also tapers at the ankles which I love but because I am short, I do have to roll the hem up a couple of times. Levi's quality is top notch (they wash super well) and I am a fan of the button fly front. These are high-waisted on my petite frame, though the waistband rests right around my belly button so not quite at my true waist. I'd buy all colors of the wedgie style jeans if i could; they are perfect for us pear-shaped gals." — Bestiek Citizens of Humanity Sculpt Rocket High Waist Skinny Jeans ($238) Rating: 4.6/5 stars Customer Review: "These jeans are hands down my favorites. The stretch is perfect. They're the perfect waist height, and extremely flattering. I have a hard time with jeans and once I realized how much I love these, I started learning about what fabric they're made of and looked for jeans only with the same thing. Obsessed!" — MacKenzielverson Madewell Skinny Flare Jeans in Crossett Wash ($80) Rating: 4.7/5 stars Customer Review: "These are the perfect flare jeans and fit super comfy. The "pocket" tech of Madewell helps hold the tummy in just a bit—but not like a girdle. Just smooth, yet still comfy." — JFSchroeder1 Madewell 9" Mid-Rise Skinny Jeans in Hayes Wash ($135) Rating: 4.6/5 Stars Customer Review: "Get ready for the butt compliments! The fit is absolutely pristine. It's the perfect amount of compression to smooth everything out, the rise hits at the perfect spot, and the pocket placement and size really does wonders for your butt. I cannot say enough great things about these jeans." — LexiB123 Style Tip: Show off your butt-lifting jeans by pairing them with a chic cropped blouse. Madwell Curvy Classic Straight Jeans ($128) Rating: 4.8/5 Stars Customer Review: "These are the absolute best Madewell jeans I've ever bought (and I have bought many!). There is no awkward waist gap, they smooth out all of your curves, and the denim has just enough stretch. If you're thinking about buying these: do it!" — emilymg22 Mother The Looker Frayed Ankle Jeans ($228) Rating: 4.6/5 Stars Customer Review: "I love these jeans and am so happy I ordered them. They are so comfortable. Every little thing about the fit is perfect!" — aheck Madewell Stovepipe Jeans in Antoine Wash ($128) Rating: 4.7/5 Stars Customer Review: "I cannot rave enough about the stovepipe fit (with a hint of stretch). They look modern, fit slim but not tight, and make the assets look great—all without the skinny jean sausage-casing feels. Sometimes you just don't want material hugging your legs all day/ I don't know if I can ever go back to skinny jeans now that I have these stovepipe jeans. I have a short torso, but the rise was a perfect hold-you-in rise. I wore these to work with a blazer, half tucked tee, and flats, and they felt just polished enough to handle a run in with executives. I will be living in these jeans." — MelPDX Everlane The Cheeky Straight Jean ($78) Rating: 4.5/5 Stars Customer Review: "These jeans are the absolute BEST. Buttery soft, they hold you in, have the perfect amount of stretch to them, and take any outfit up a notch. I tried them on in-store, but they didn't have my inseam. I went ahead and ordered online because I knew I had to have them! Buy these jeans! Flattering for any body type, as they mold to you throughout the day. Love, love, love." — jrcamp Gap High Rise Curvy True Skinny Ankle Jeans ($80) Rating: 4.7/5 Stars Customer Review: "The perfect shape. I love these jeans. They fit my hourglass shape like a glove. I'm 5'1 so I bought them in Petite because regular jeans are always too long for me, but these are a bit shorter than I expected (about 4 inches above my ankles). Other than that they're perfectly stretchy and comfy." — Shakti Style Tip: A trending backless top will draw more attention to your assets. H&M Embrace High Ankle Jeans ($40) Rating: 4.4/5 Stars Customer Review: "These jeans are the perfect fit. They hug nicely in all the right areas of the body, they accentuate and compliment ones natural shape very nicely. I have a somewhat pear shape to my body so the high-waist complements my curves beautifully as well. They are super comfortable and have a stretch like quality to them. The distress denim gives you the ability to play a lot with your looks. These are officially my new favorite jeans." — H&M customer Paige Hoxton High Waist Crop Skinny Jeans ($150) Rating: 5/5 Stars Customer Review: "I love these jeans! I feel super cute in them. I'm 5'4, 140lbs and pretty hippy. I ordered a size 29 which can be dicey with curves and a small waist but they fit my body perfectly and are really comfy. I love putting them on!" — Rosebud59 Eloquii Sculpting Skinny Jean ($90) Rating: 4.5/5 Stars Customer Review: "Best pair of pants I have purchased in years! They fit perfectly from top to bottom. The material is strong and the color is rich and gorgeous. I haven't found a pair of pants that had it all in so many years I could cry. Also they're very flattering which is a great confidence booster. I have bought one pair in each color so far." — MJ Gap High Rise True Skinny Jeans with Secret Smoothing Pockets ($80) Rating: 4.7/5 Stars Customer Review: "Love these jeans. Great fit with a high waist that cinches in all the right places. Comfortable with a slight stretch, and smoothing all over. I have many pairs and would definitely purchase again!" — Kristen Frame Le High Waist Skinny Jeans ($75) Rating: 4.1/5 Stars Customer Review: "Really soft material, and has lots of stretch. High rise, but not too high! The pockets on the butt sit slightly higher than usual, which gives a more lifted and shaping look! Perfect go-to jeans." — Ericadutty Style Tip: You can never go wrong with a basic white tee and high-waisted denim. Old Navy Mid-Rise Built-In Sculpt Rockstar Raw-Hem Super Skinny Jeans ($35) Rating: 4.5/5 Stars Customer Review: "These are the most comfortable jeans I own right now. They are flattering and feel so soft." — Chris Agolde Nico High Rise Slim Fit ($158) Rating: 4.6/5 Stars Customer Review: "I m 5'8 155-160 lbs with a big bottom and thicker thighs & these jeans fit like a glove. I've worn them several times since I got them and they loosened a little but they still fit perfectly. Size down one." — Rachel DL1961 Florence Instasculpt Skinny Jeans ($53) Rating: 4.4/5 Stars Customer Review: "Best fitting jeans ever! Hugs in all the right places, sits well at the waistline. Length is perfect to wear with ankle boots or heels. I wore them to my 30 year high school reunion and got plenty of compliments!" — LoveShoesgirl Levi's 721 High Rise Distressed Skinny Jeans ($88) Rating: 4.5/5 Stars Customer Review: "Bought these after seeing a beauty blogger post about them. She claimed that they were here favorite pair of jeans, with just enough stretch but that would keep their shape. And they do just that. I am 5'2, 110lbs and I ordered my normal size 25. They fit perfectly. They are super cute, with the best wash and fit. I may have to buy a backup pair. I am in love!" — HMcWade Eloquii Peach Lift Step Hem Skinny Jeans ($90) Rating: 4.5/5 Stars Customer Review: "These jeans are amazing! I have a really hard time finding jeans that fit right (as I'm sure many of you do too), and these are perfect for me! I'm a size 18 (230lbs, 5'5") and always have trouble getting pants that fit my waist but then aren't too big in my legs. The waistband stretches just a little while wearing and the legs don't get all loosey-goosey—providing me with the perfect jean. I Bought two pairs of these because I love them so much, and I get lots of compliments on them! You won't regret purchasing these pants!" — Courtney M J Brand Maria High Rise Photo Ready Jeans ($189) Rating: 4.5/5 Stars Customer Review: "These are the perfect jeans, the most flattering for my body type. I have them in Bluebird, and finally got them in black. They're comfortable, I wear them all day and don't have the urge to take them off as soon as I get home, because they feel like a second skin. I got size 28, I'm 5'5/125 lbs, and fit perfectly. It's the only jeans I feel confident wearing after having a baby recently." — MrsHonda Up next, 26 stretch jeans with amazing Amazon reviews. Review: 4 women try Everlane's Authentic Stretch denim - Insider - INSIDER Posted: 22 May 2020 11:02 AM PDT When you buy through our links, we may earn money from our affiliate partners. Learn more. In September 2017, Digital Age wunderkind Everlane released its first-ever line of jeans made from Japanese denim. The waitlist — a companion to any big Everlane launch — tapped out at about 45,000 people. One year later, Everlane followed up with a new denim line dubbed the Authentic Stretch. Authentic Stretch is essentially exactly what it sounds like: stretch denim that actually looks like denim. It comes in three styles (high-rise cigarette, mid-rise skinny, and high-rise skinny) in either regular or ankle lengths. Styles are offered in three or four classic colors per style (black, washed black, mid blue, and dark wash blue). Prices are unusually affordable, ranging from $68 - $78. This line seeks to avoid the fatal trajectory of stretch denim that looks something like this: At first, they're comfortable like sweatpants and slimming like only a stretchy, form-fitting material can be. The world is your oyster; there are no stairs too steep or meals too big. After a few hours of wear, though, the same pair is bagged out, loose, and has gone from the best to the worst pair that you own. Everlane has achieved what we've all been looking for — denim that looks like rigid and substantial, but can stretch and mold throughout the day without becoming too lose, pockets that are actually usable, and prices that are half of what we pay for similar pairs. You can read our full individual experiences below, but the consensus of the Insider Reviews women is this: Everlane has a big success on their hands. Like the rest of Everlane's offerings, the denim is also notable for its transparency in process and pricing. The Authentic Stretch Denim jeans cost $68 - $78, but the company estimates they'd be priced at $170 if sold in traditional retail. The jeans are also manufactured in a LEED-certified factory that recycles 98% of its water to the point where you could drink a glass, relies on alternative energy sources, and repurposes byproducts in order to address the concerns of clean water, clean energy, and clean waste. If you're concerned about how Authentic Stretch performs in person, read our thoughts below before deciding to pick a pair up for yourself. The 12 Best Summer Jeans for Men 2020 - Esquire Posted: 20 Jun 2020 06:03 AM PDT If you've been dreading the onset of warmer weather because it makes wearing your favorite pair of jeans slightly harder to justify, take a deep breath and calm down. No one's coming for your jeans. On the contrary, climate change and the mercurial shifts in temperature it engenders mean you can pretty much get away with wearing pants all year round (yay?) provided you're wearing the right type. And when it comes to summer denim, you definitely want to lighten up. Opt for a slightly looser fit than you might otherwise, maybe even with a touch of stretch for added comfort, and to retain any semblance of breathability avoid stiffer selvages and definitely opt for lightweight denim as opposed to the heavy-duty stuff*. This one summer in high school I caught a ride with a friend of mine and his family to a house they had upstate, and my boy came through in a brand new pair of selvedge jeans so crisp he could barely sit down comfortably in the car. It was deadass approaching, like, 90 degrees outside and this poor schmuck had to spend the entirety of the ride shifting his weight back and forth trying to find a position that seemed the most natural without completely cutting off circulation to the lower half of his body. My guy, I can clearly tell you're extremely uncomfortable and potentially in pain, but I'm going to ignore the fact that you look like you've been trying not to pass out for the last hour and half because I respect the commitment. That's true camaraderie right there. What is friendship if not taking pity on your boy when he comes through in who-knows-how-many ounces worth of selvedge by resisting the urge to call him out for his wildly weather-agnostic fit? Don't be like my friend. Invest in some seasonally appropriate denim. But remember: Ultimately, no pair of pants—no matter how loose-fitting or lightweight—will feel as freeing as shorts. Fashion hurts. This shit ain't a game, man. Now leave me alone and let me suffer in peace. *Fabric weight is calculated in ounces per yard, and you're looking for something in the less-than-10-ounce range, ideally even as light as six or eight ounces. For context, those fancy selvedge jeans my buddy was wearing? Probably 14-to-16-ounces of summer misery.
